How well do you know your dog breeds?

Maddies Shelter Medicine Program in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida is asking dog "experts" (veterinarians, breeders, trainers, groomers, shelter staff, rescuers, etc.) to participate in a dog breed identification survey to match dogs to their breeds.

The program says that dog breed designations can be useful in predicting future behavior, matching pets to families, finding lost dogs, and even restricting ownership of certain types of dogs.

Thr program invites dog experts to compare their best guesses for breeds of dogs shown in photographs. The results of the survey will then be compared to the DNA breed profiles of the dogs.

Try it out! But hurry - you only have until Friday, June 15, 2012 to complete the visual assessment!

Fun survey - I hope you will post the results (or a link) when they get the DNA results back!
