Today, pet owners rely heavily on the Internet to evaluate and choose veterinary care providers. That’s why a website that speaks to potential clients is essential if you want to attract and convert them. Luckily, there are some free resources to help.

Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), an alliance of 100+ veterinary associations, veterinary colleges, and animal health companies focused on preventive care led by AAHA and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), has developed an Internet Strategy Implementation Series to help your practice turn its website into a “client attracting machine” and direct clients to it via social media.

This free, downloadable series includes five instructional video modules on strategies for establishing an effective Internet presence. The series was developed and is presented by Michael Warren, DVM, a practicing veterinarian, online strategist, and managing director of a successful web development firm.

Each of the five modules in the series will feature two 30-minute segments accompanied by printable worksheets. All of the modules will be supported by live interactive webinars, in which participants can ask questions and receive helpful coaching and tips.

Module 1, Jumpstart Your Practice Online, provides an overview of veterinary marketing and online client engagement. The opening video outlines the seven key client-bonding questions to ask and walks you, step-by-step, through how to discover and craft your message to attract and inspire potential clients to be part of your practice. A video transcript and related PowerPoint slides are also included.

Module 2 gets into the nuts and bolts of a website presence, including finding the right developer, photographer, and videographer. It also includes a review of “the good, the bad and the ugly” in websites.

New modules of this free, downloadable resource will be offered on the site approximately every two weeks to help practices further enhance client engagement and practice growth.
