The internet is becoming an increasingly useful tool that pet owners rely on to help them evaluate and choose veterinary care providers. Every practice needs an effective web presence if they are going to attract and keep clients, and by going through the Jumpstart Your Practice Online series, you can get a step-by-step implementation process of how to build that web presence.

Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), an alliance of 100+ veterinary associations, veterinary colleges, and animal health companies focused on preventive care led by AAHA and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), is offering free, downloadable tools in addition to the online video series to help your practice build an effective web presence and become more social media savvy.

Dr. Michael Warren, a practicing veterinarian and managing director of a successful Web development firm, will take you through the five instructional video modules. Each of the five modules in the series will feature two 30-minute segments accompanied by printable worksheets and supported by live interactive Webinars.

Modules cover the topics in the following order:

  1. Overview of Veterinary Marketing and Online Client Engagement
  2. How to Build an Effective Veterinary Website
  3. Search Engine Marketing
  4. Social Media
  5. Reputation Management

You will have two weeks to complete section of each module, meaning the full course takes 15 weeks at the recommend pace. However, you can work more quickly or go through modules in the order they interest you.

After getting started by learning how to craft your practice’s message and transforming your website to make the best first impression, you’ll move onto how to draw people to your new website through search engine marketing in Module 3. This module will teach you the foundations of search engine marketing and specifically how to get your practice “on the map.”

Module 4 focuses on social media, including which platform to focus on, how to create an efficient social media system within your practice, and the most common mistakes that are all too easy to make. It will also provide powerful insights into the Facebook algorithm along with engagement focused strategies that you will be able to immediately implement.

You’ll end with learning how to monitor your online reputation and how to respond to negative reviews. With the full video series, and the free, downloadable materials that go along with each module, you can take the first steps to improving your practice’s online presence and improving engagement with your clients.
