According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Oma's Pride of Avon, Conn., has recalled Purr-Complete Feline Poultry Meal because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect pets who have consumed, and humans who have handled, contaminated products. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Natura Pet Products has initiated a limited, voluntary recall of certain dry cat and dry ferret food lots produced in its Fremont, Neb., facility. Due to a formulation error, the products contain insufficient levels of vitamins and excess minerals. There have been no reports of animal health concerns to date, but these products do not meet quality standards and should not be consumed by pets. ...more

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Bravo of Manchester, Conn., is recalling select lots of Bravo Turkey and Chicken pet foods for dogs and cats due to potential Salmonella contamination.

The recalled product was distributed nationwide beginning on November 14, 2013 to distributors, retail stores, Internet retailers, and directly to consumers. To identify the product, locate the batch ID code (best-used-by date) printed on the side of the plastic tube....more

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Mars Petcare US has announced a voluntary recall of 22 bags of PEDIGREE® Adult Complete Nutrition dry dog food products due to the possible presence of a foreign material. The bags were produced in one manufacturing facility and shipped to one retail customer. The facility production line has been shut down until this issue is resolved. ...more
