AAHA members have consistently rated Trends magazine as their #1 member benefit, and the recent additions to the magazine plus our new design have made it even more valuable and enjoyable.

The Extras
You may have noticed some of the additions to recent issues of Trends. In July, we included the 2013 AAHA Dental Care Guidelines for Cats and Dogs toolkit and poster (sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition, Merial, PDx Biotech, and Virbac Animal Health). Also added in July was the "3 is Key: How Pet Lifestyle Discussions Drive Flea and Tick Control Recommendations" booklet (sponsored by Merial).

Your August issue was supplemented with the 2013 AAHA/AAFP Fluid Therapy Guidelines for Dogs and Cats toolkit* (sponsored by Abbott Animal Health) as well as the 3 is Key Flea and Tick Control poster (sponsored by Merial).

*The 2013 AAHA/AAFP Fluid Therapy Guidelines for Dogs and Cats toolkit will be available online after September 1.

The Look
After 10 years with the same look, a complete redesign of Trends debuted with the August issue. Ben Williams, editor, wrote: "Nearly every page will have a different look this month, from the cover, to the table of contents, to opening pages of the features all the way down to the department level. The cover has a fresh new feel to it, and you might notice the lack of lines around each page. We wanted to have a more open layout for the magazine, and the new pages reflect this beautifully. We have also changed the names of most of the departments. Bonded Client is now 'Client Centric' to reflect the new thinking on customer service. Our tech section, Plugged In, will now be called 'Tech Support.' Learning Curve is 'Get Smart,' and Work Force, which deals with human resource and staff issues, is now 'Home Team.' The last two are 'Reach Out' for our old DIY Marketing section, and 'Money Matters' is the new Dollars and Sense."

We hope you enjoy the new Trends design, as well as the recent and upcoming additions to the magazine. Let us know your thoughts at trends@aahanet.org.
