Although you can expect to do quite a bit of learning at the AAHA Tampa 2015 Yearly Conference, know that attending AAHA Tampa 2015 means you'll also network a lot. And mingle a lot. And have fun--a lot. Here, your guide to networking, mingling, and having fun at AAHA Tampa 2015.

Cozy up in a conference hotel
They're close to all the fun (and CE), full of other conference attendees, and have been pre-qualified by AAHA representatives. They're the official conference hotels, and you should be sure you've booked your room in one of them. The AAHA headquarters hotel, the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina, is located across the street from the Tampa Convention Center and features two restaurants, a rooftop pool, spa, patio with fire pits and water views, and a full-service marina. Other participating hotels include the Embassy Suites Tampa--Downtown Convention Center, the Westin Tampa Harbour Island, and the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel.

Relax at a reception or two
Thursday evening, join your best and brightest colleagues, including fellow veterinary professionals, AAHA staff, learning facilitators, and others, for complimentary cocktails and hors d' oeuvres at one of AAHA's receptions. Held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the receptions are a great way to get your feet wet in the social scene at AAHA Tampa 2015.

Let loose at Late Night with AAHA
Friday nights are all about having fun, so don't hold back--bring your fun side to Late Night with AAHA, where you'll have the chance to sing karaoke (or your own song), play your musical instrument, perform a short stand-up comedy routine, or do something else to please your colleagues in the audience. This open-mic fundraiser, hosted by AAHA's very own Dr. Boom-Boom and held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel at 9 p.m., will benefit Tampa's Hounds 4 Heroes, a greyhound rescue group that trains former racing dogs to be service companions for individuals suffering from PTSD. Have fun AND donate to a worthy cause? Yes, please.

Mingle with a manatee
Ever been up close and personal with a manatee? We're guessing these large, slow-moving marine mammals aren't regular patients in your practice. Come get to know them, along with lots of other cool animals, at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo for AAHA Fun Night--Saturday at 7 p.m. Transportation, snacks, beverages, fun, beautiful animals, and vibrant Chinese lanterns will be provided.

Hang in the hall
Full days of information overload require frequent breaks and time to unwind. Whether you're hanging in the hall outside the classroom or perusing the products and services in the exhibit hall, be sure to take a few moments to enjoy some food, drinks, and the company of your colleagues.

Will your fun, networking, mingling side be at AAHA Tampa 2015, March 12-15? We hope so!
