Forward booking can be easy when you have a roadmap and a series of resources at hand.

Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), an alliance of more than 100 veterinary associations, veterinary colleges, and animal health companies focused on preventive care led by AAHA and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), is providing free, online tools to help your practice improve your forward booking practices.

The Ready. Set. Go! Forward Booking Initiative was developed in collaboration with Veterinary Medical Association Executives (VMAE) and designed to ensure you schedule all patients’ next appointments before they leave your practice.

Start with The Key to Forward Booking Appointments, an easy-to-use roadmap that will help you implement the suite of forward booking tools available on PHP’s website.

These tools include Forward Booking Appointments: How to Fill Your Appointment Schedule, a 12-page training guide packed with everything you need to know about forward booking. It includes tips, examples of effective client-team member conversations, and checklists for every team member.

Watch the series of six videos—all three minutes or less—that will take you through communications about forward booking with clients and team members.

You can also access the web conference, How to Implement Forward Booking in Your Practice, hosted by award-winning practice consultant Karen Felsted, DVM, CPA, MS, CVPM, CVA. In addition to the conference, there are coaching sessions available that cover how to overcome barriers and share success stories of other practices.

And don’t forget the buttons for your team to wear, available to order for free from PHP!

By taking advantage of the suite of tools offered by PHP and VMAE, you can improve your forward booking practices. When you put all the forward booking pieces together, the result is healthier patients and a healthier practice.
