Are you registered for AAHA Phoenix 2013? The highly anticipated event is quickly approaching, March 14 - 17, and with all of our changes this year, the AAHA conference is sure to be the talk of the industry for months to come.

This year, AAHA is collaborating with the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM), providing you with top-notch pain management education covering hot topics like pain processing, neuropharmacology, analgesic drugs, the use of orthotics, locoregional anesthesia, pain generation myalgia, chronic pain, NSAID use, and more.

We continue to create an environment designed to promote effective adult learning. We've expanded this year's conference, offering more than 450 hours of scientific, management, and technician CE. Most sessions will last one hour and forty minutes, and feature in-depth, interactive presentations on cutting-edge topics.

Why are we doing this? Studies show that the standard lecture at a conference has only a five percent retention rate. With some innovation, we are creating more interactive training sessions that support increased retention of information. This provides a better learning experience for each person attending the AAHA conference. We've also incorporated longer, 40-minute breaks between sessions, allowing time for attendees to speak with learning facilitators and colleagues before heading to their next session.

Another improvement this year is our first-ever AAHA conference app. The app will help you plan out your session schedule, find exhibitors you want to see in the hall, get the latest updates, see our Twitter feed (#AAHAPhoenix2013), connect with your fellow colleagues, and even complete session evaluations. Available to download for both iPhone and Android users beginning Tuesday, February 26, this app will get you well on your way to customizing your conference experience.
