Itching to make your mark on the veterinary profession? Ready to give back to your colleagues and gain a sense of real accomplishment? Get involved by becoming a volunteer leader of AAHA!
AAHA is accepting applications for the following positions for its 2019 Board of Directors:
- President-elect
- Vice president
- Up to three veterinarian directors
- Up to one non-veterinarian director
Here are just a few things previous and current board members gained by serving on the AAHA Board of Directors:
- "I gained wonderful friendships fostered with other individuals who are passionate about the profession. I learned how to stretch my strategic-planning muscles and how to work more effectively with different personality types. I also gained a better understanding and deeper knowledge of trends in the profession and had the opportunity to meet leaders in the profession." -Hilary Mellor, DVM
- "I have gained a greater understanding of important issues and topics within the veterinary community. I have gained amazing colleagues and friends through our involvement with AAHA. My overall professional and business acumen have been elevated to a new level and I have gained a greater appreciation and passion for all involved in making veterinary medicine better." -Caroline Lubeck, DVM
- "I have gained the ability to think strategically; not only short-term strategy but long term as well. Many people are so busy in the day to day (just as I was), that they don't allow themselves time to think forward into the future. This experience has helped me gain that skill set." -Darren Taul, DVM
