When marketing your AAHA-accredited veterinary practice, you probably don’t think to collaborate with other area veterinary hospitals, but that’s exactly what eight AAHA-accredited veterinary hospitals in Oregon did recently.

The eight hospitals worked together to create a “Champions for Excellent Care” advertisement for the pet edition of Eugene Magazine, a prominent regional publication. The advertisement not only used the AAHA Champions messaging, it also called attention to the eight area hospitals who have gone above and beyond to become accredited.

Jim Johnson, practice manager for Animal Health Associates in Eugene, Ore., initiated the collaboration of the ad.

“We have great relationships with the other accredited hospitals in the area,” Johnson said. “While technically we are competitors, we see this ad as helping all of us attract more pet owners. In creating this ad, we’re working as a team to promote high-quality animal health care.”

The ad was published in the October 2015 issue of the Eugene Magazine pet edition.
