"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." --Benjamin Franklin

As veterinary professionals, we want to improve the lives of our patients and their owners. To really improve lives, though, prevention is key. That's why Partners for Healthy Pets and the new Preventive Healthcare Certificate Program focus on teaching veterinarians and veterinary students how to provide preventive health care in conjunction with annual visits.

The Preventive Healthcare Certificate Program will provide the tools and resources you need to communicate the value and benefit of preventive care to your clients in a way that enhances the veterinary-client-patient relationship. It will also help you to improve the overall quality of preventive health care you provide your patients.

After completing this program, you will be able to:

  • Describe preventive health care and its importance to primary care veterinary practice and your clients
  • Apply the Partners for Healthy Pets Resource Toolbox to the development of a preventive health care program in your practice

Program details
The Preventive Healthcare Certificate Program includes 10 modules, each taking about an hour to complete.

  1. The Opportunity Survey
