AAHA announces AAHA Pet Wellness Plans, new accredited member benefit
LAKEWOOD, Colorado – September 6, 2018 – When it comes to pet healthcare, a wellness plan can make the difference between a pet getting the preventive care he needs—or not getting that care until it is too late.
That’s why AAHA is announcing a new AAHA Pet Wellness Plans program, powered by VCP, an industry leader. The program, developed for AAHA-accredited practices, is designed to give clients peace of mind by providing access to important preventive care services with an affordable monthly payment.
The new wellness plan program supports AAHA’s Healthy Workplace Culture Initiative, a strategic initiative designed to help relieve stress in the practice by improving veterinary workplace culture.
“As veterinary professionals, it is important to make routine wellness care more manageable, both to help ensure optimal health care for pets while enabling pet owners to fit veterinary care into their budgets,” said AAHA Chief Executive Officer, Michael Cavanaugh, DVM, DABVP (Emeritus). “We believe offering tools like the new AAHA Pet Wellness Plans program will make routine wellness care more accessible to pet owners while also mitigating some stress in the veterinary practice. Ultimately, this reduction of stress on the practice team will make for healthier workplace cultures overall while also improving the health of pets and taking some financial stress out of pet owners’ lives.”
For the last six years, VCP has focused solely on creating a comprehensive wellness plan solution for veterinary practices. As a preferred provider of AAHA, VCP will power the new AAHA Pet Wellness Plans.
"We recognized that wellness plan success is dependent on a veterinary practice understanding two important concepts: The practice of wellness and the business of wellness. VCP is the only company that provides the solution for both aspects of a well-run wellness program ensuring success for pets, clients, and the practice," said Bob Richardson, president of VCP.
