American Animal Hospital Association Names 2020 AAHA-Accredited Practice of the Year

LAKEWOOD, Colorado—October 1, 2020—Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has been named the 2020 AAHA-Accredited Practice of the Year by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA).

Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital accepted this prestigious award in a virtual ceremony on October 1 during Connexity by AAHA, the association’s annual conference, which was held online for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accreditation is voluntary and only about 15% of animal hospitals in the US and Canada choose to undergo AAHA’s rigorous evaluation to become AAHA accredited. Nearly 60 percent of the pet-owning public believes their veterinary hospital is accredited when it is not. AAHA is the only organization in the US and Canada that accredits companion animal hospitals based on standards that go above and beyond state and provincial regulations.

The AAHA-Accredited Practice of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding achievements of accredited-practice teams and celebrates ongoing advancements in veterinary medicine. Accredited veterinary hospitals are known for their excellence, and this award is highly competitive.

“We were very impressed by the dedication to positive workplace culture at Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital,” said Janice Trumpeter, DVM, AAHA’s deputy chief executive officer. “At AAHA, we strongly believe in continuous improvement and development of healthy practice environments, in order to better serve patients and clients.”

Award finalists included:

  • Madison Veterinary Specialists (Madison, Wisconsin)
  • Idaho Veterinary Hospital (Nampa, Idaho)
  • Loyal Companions Animal Hospital (St. Charles, Illinois)
  • Tender Care Veterinary Center (Falcon, Colorado)

The AAHA Awards Committee evaluates each team on its most recent accreditation score, mission and vision, practice team composition, continuing education and training, community service, and more. AAHA congratulates Manheim Pike Veterinary Hospital and all the finalists for their great achievement!
