Take care of you

The heart carries us, but it needs to be cared for to keep it healthy and strong.

What you do builds out of the AAHA legacy of excellence. Your care and expertise bring joy and comfort to those who experience it. Connexity is where we join together to celebrate the power of our collective passion for the profession, to show love for one another, gather strength, regenerate, and find comfort.

Diversity in Veterinary Medicine: Mentoring and Recruiting for Lasting Change

What does it mean to have a “diverse” practice? The year 2020 has continually brought new lessons in how we care for others, whether family, friends, patients, clients, staff, or strangers we’ve yet to meet. Join a panel of thought leaders from inside the veterinary community to discuss race, sexuality, and other minority intersections where even nominal equality is still lacking. Together in this session, we will discover ways to listen and better ourselves and our businesses, rather than passively waiting for change to come.

Sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition

“The sessions were awesome. I felt like we were working together to come up with real solutions that could be implemented right away and make real changes for the staff/clients/patients in our practices.”

Practice with Heart

Connexity—the intersection between community and connection—is the heart. But don’t just take our word for it!

“I truly appreciated the AAHA staff and their willingness to help. I have always loved AAHA conferences the best as you feel taken care of and special. Connexity just honed in on that and elevated the experience. I got to meet some new people, get inspired by influential people, learn some great things that I can apply right away and a lot that made me think . . . and just have a good time!”

ER Bootcamp

When a patient is crashing, does your team instinctively bolt in or shy away? Easier access to local ERs and specialty hospitals has made some hospitals quick to refer, but if your team is reluctant to courageously jump in during an emergency situation, they are missing the opportunity to stabilize and properly care for their patients. Successfully treating a beloved pet in a crisis not only brings a surge of camaraderie among the team, but the client’s gratitude can further bond them to your practice. This session takes deeper dives into approaching anemia, urethral obstructions, respiratory disease, and hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE)—where every moment counts.
