Spaying and Neutering Dogs

Did you know? Spaying and neutering prevents pet overpopulation while also keeping your dog healthy. The American Animal Hospital Association has a position statement that supports neutering cats and dogs as young as 8 weeks of age in order to help reduce the overpopulation problem affecting companion animals.

AAHA encourages pet owners to ask their veterinarian to spay or neuter their pets before they have an unwanted litter. Veterinarians will make recommendations based on an assessment of each individual patient.
