About DEVTP

As an AVMA-CVTEA-accredited veterinary technology program, DEVTP has been educating future veterinary technicians since 2001. DEVTP's distance learning program allows students to pursue personal goals while enhancing their professional skills and building a successful career.

DEVTP attendees enjoy:

  • Core content focusing on pharmacy and pharmacology, surgical preparation and assistance, animal nursing, radiology and ultrasound, and laboratory and examination procedures
  • Multimedia courses that combine textbooks, videos, online assignments, and
in-clinic exercises to deliver challenging, hands-on education
  • Flexible scheduling designed specifically for working adults—no commuting or sacrificing work and family life
  • Optimal student-teacher contact—instructors are available via phone and email
  • Specialized general education courses, such as biology and math, that are applicable to the world of veterinary medicine

Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree

Most importantly, graduates of DEVTP receive an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from an AVMA-CVTEA-accredited program of veterinary technology. By obtaining this degree, graduates qualify for any registration, licensing or certification exams needed to become a credentialed veterinary technician—including the VTNE. Taking and passing the VTNE, administered by American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB), is a final step in becoming a credentialed veterinary technician.

"The instructor was incredibly helpful with the many questions I had during this course and was very prompt in answering them all."
– Erika Pitts, DEVTP student
