AVMA Accreditation/VTNE

Graduates of DEVTP receive an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from an AVMA-CVTEA-accredited program of veterinary technology. By obtaining this degree, graduates qualify for any registration, licensing or certification exams needed to become a credentialed veterinary technician—including the VTNE.

Why is this important?

To become a credentialed veterinary technician, DEVTP graduates must take and pass the Veterinarian Technician National Exam (VTNE), administered by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). The exam is given in January and June of each year and is constantly updated, reviewed and reevaluated.
