Attending AAHA Nashville 2017? Here's what you need to know

AAHA Nashville 2017 is almost here! Are you ready?

Our friendly and helpful staff is standing by to ensure you have a great experience, but it never hurts to be prepared. Check out our best tips, tricks, and words of wisdom, straight from AAHA HQ.

Before you go

  • Bring two pairs of comfortable shoes and alternate every day. Nashville’s Music City Center spans 2.1 million square feet—that’s a lot of ground to cover!
  • If you’re traveling with a computer, don’t forget your power cord. Using a mouse, too? Be sure to pack fresh batteries.
  • Download your airline’s app so you can be notified about potential flight changes or delays.
  • Conference centers can often be too warm or too cold. Pack a light jacket or sweater.
  • Plan your days ahead of time to ensure you don’t miss out on anything—or try to cram in too much. The AAHA conference app is a great planning tool! Just search “AAHA Nashville” to download.

The main event

  • Avoid lines at the Registration desk by picking up your packet early—the desk will be open Wednesday, March 29, starting at 8 a.m.
  • Stay hydrated! This can be easy to forget on busy days.
  • Don’t miss our most popular sessions. Arrive early to grab a seat—they fill up quickly!
  • Look for AAHA-accredited colleagues in the AAHA-Accredited Member Lounge. Network, make new friends, and learn from each other.
  • Take notes. Not all sessions are recorded or offer proceedings, so be sure to put your education notebook to good use!
  • If you like to have fun, don’t miss Late Night with AAHA or the AAHA Afterparty! These events are the perfect time to let your hair down and get to know your colleagues on a more personal level.
  • Introduce yourself to at least one person each day. Ask about their most recent accomplishment or seek advice on a particular skill they may have.
  • Have questions about how to make your time in Nashville even better? Ask any AAHA staff or board member!
  • Be sure and say hello to AAHA CEO Mike Cavanaugh when you see him. Do you belong to the AAHA-Accredited Members Facebook group? Grab a selfie with him for a chance to win an awesome prize!
  • Need a feline fix? Paws to visit the coolest cats in Nashville at the AAHA Cat Lounge and support a great cause!
  • Don’t shy away from the camera guy. His fun personality is infectious!

When the show is over

  • We’re listening! Be sure to fill out evaluations on the sessions you attend. AAHA wants your feedback!
  • Stay connected to fellow accredited members. Join the AAHA-Accredited Member Facebook group to continue building great connections.
