Purina One campaign benefits AAHA Helping Pets Fund

A day-long campaign by Purina One provided a nice New Year’s boost for the AAHA Helping Pets Fund.

The company sponsored an event online and in the streets of New York City, Denver, Miami, and New Orleans, where local celebrities interviewed passersby about their favorite charitable causes. Respondents were then asked to choose a charity from among 15 pre-selected national and local nonprofits to receive a $5,000 donation from Purina ONE. Eligible organizations included those for pets and for people in need, with a total of $200,000 available in each city.

The AAHA Helping Pets Fund was included in both online voting and in-street interviews and will receive a donation of $17,800 from Purina ONE. These funds will ensure that at least 50 additional pets receive assistance from the Fund in 2011. The AAHA Helping Pets Fund was launched in 2005 to help those in need access quality veterinary care for sick or injured pets.
