Strange but true: Dog accidentally runs Maryland half-marathon

Half marathoners aren’t always just two-legged, it turns out. Sometimes, they have four legs.

That’s what runners at the Maryland Half Marathon discovered last May when a 3-year-old goldendoodle escaped the invisible fencing of his home and crossed the finish line along with other two-legged runners.

Dozer the goldendoodle is not allowed to run in this year’s fourth annual Maryland Half Marathon, but he is doing his part to help fundraise for cancer research.

See a video and read more about Dozer and his amazing race from the Baltimore Sun.
