"Animal Practice" comes to NBC

Veterinarians: The spotlight is on you in an upcoming fall TV show on NBC called "Animal Practice."

The show, a workplace sitcom set in the veterinary practice, follows Dr. George Coleman, a so-called "top-dog" New York veterinarian who has a great gift with all animals….except for the human kind. Coleman clashes with Dorothy Crane, a former girlfriend who becomes Coleman’s new boss when she takes over her family’s animal hospital. Comedy ensues when Coleman and Crane experience firsthand the convoluted drama of love in the workplace.

Of course, no series about animals would be complete without a token resident animal to provide some additional comedic relief. The series features a resident capuchin monkey, Dr. Rizzo, who enjoys playing poker games with the staff.

Cast members include Justin Kirk ("Weeds"), Bobby Lee, Tyler Labine and Crystal the capuchin monkey.

The series is expected to premiere on NBC Wednesdays 8:00 p.m. Eastern/7:00 p.m. Central time during the 2012-13 TV season. A sneak preview will air on Aug. 12, 2012, before the series premiere on Sept. 26, 2012.
