Nature’s Deli Chicken Jerky Dog Treats facing recall

Consumers who purchased Nature’s Deli Chicken Jerky Dog Treats are being urged to return the product if the UPC bar code on the package reads 647263800208.

The recall is the result of a routine inspection by the FDA, which detected salmonella contamination in the recalled batch.

The lot number of the 2.5-pound packages being recalled is BEST BY 091913 DEN, according to a recall notice from the manufacturer, Denver-based Kasel Associated Industries.

The recalled treats were reportedly distributed to 57 Sam’s Club locations in these states: CO,IA,ID,IL,KS,MO,MT,NE,OK,SD,UT, and WY.

According to Kasel Associated Industries, there have been no reports of animals or humans falling ill as a result of contact with the recalled product.

Consumers who purchased packages of chicken jerky from the recalled batch can return the product to where they purchased it for a full refund. Kasel Associated Industries will be fielding questions from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. MDT Monday through Friday at 1-800-218-4417.
