Recall initiated for two Boots & Barkley products

Kasel Associated Industries is recalling two of its products because of the potential for salmonella contamination. The affected products are Boots & Barkley Roasted American Pig Ears, and Boots & Barkley American Variety Pack Dog Treats.

This is the third recall undertaken by Kasel Associated Industry in the last month, with the previous products being Nature’s Deli Chicken Jerky Dog Treats and Boots & Barkley American Beef Bully Sticks.

According to a recall notice from Kasel Associated Industries, the most recent recalled products were distributed through Target retail stores nationwide in August 2012. They have the following identifying characteristics:

Product name Product description UPC code Lot number
Boots & Barkley Roasted American Pig Ears Clear plastic bag containing 12 pig ears 647263899158 BESTBY 13SEP2014DEN
Boots & Barkley American Variety Pack Dog Treats Clear plastic 32-ounce bag 490830400086 BESTBY 13SEP2014DEN

The recall was initiated because the Colorado Department of Agriculture conducted a routine sampling revealing that some of finished products contained traces of salmonella bacteria.
