Hurricane recovery symposium to be held in NY on Nov. 16
Veterinary practices still reeling from Hurricane Sandy will be able to access a wealth of recovery advice at a Recovery Empowerment Symposium on Nov. 16 in New York.
The event will take place from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Westin Times Square in New York City, according to a news release from the event’s sponsor, Henry Schein, Inc.
Admission is free, although attendance is limited to a first-come, first-serve basis.
During the symposium, health practitioners will hear practical advice from professionals in the insurance, disaster recovery, and claims management sectors. Speakers from medical, dental, and animal health associations will also be addressing attendees.
Topics scheduled to be discussed at the event include:
- How to access Federal agencies, including the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration, and insurance carriers
- How to work with banks, financial services, and suppliers
- How to enhance employee morale and stay in touch with patients
