Bailey's Choice Dog Treats recalling some chicken jerky treats

Georgia-based Bailey's Choice Dog Treats LLC is recalling some packages of its chicken jerky treats due to the potential for salmonella contamination.

No illnesses have been reported to date, the manufacturer reported.

According to a notice on the Georgia Department of Agriculture website, the chicken jerky treats in question come in various sizes marked with lot number #132881 and the expiration date Feb. 2014. Also being recalled are 5-ounce packages of chicken jerky treats with a lot number of "Jun 5 2013."

The Georgia Department of Agriculture reports that it is currently verifying that the recalled products are no longer for sale at area retail stores and warehouses.

Information for consumers

Bailey's Choice Dog Treats LLC recommends that consumers immediately discard any unused recalled product. The company will issue full refunds for recalled products.
