Salmonella concerns prompt Pro-Pet LLC to recall some dry pet foods

Pet food manufacturer Pro-Pet LLC, based in St. Marys, Ohio, is recalling a limited amount of its dry dog and cat foods after tests revealed possible salmonella risks.

According to the company, a single field test showed potential salmonella contamination for products manufactured during a two-day period on a single production line. In light of these concerns, Pro-Pet LLC is recalling the following affected products:

According to the manufacturer, the recalled products were distributed via select retailers, distributors, and online consumer purchases in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Consumers who purchased the recalled products or have questions are being urged to discontinue use of the product and call Pro-Pet LLC at 1-888-765-4190.
