Malignant lymphoma is one of the most common tumors in dogs, and most often seen in middle aged and older dogs, according to the National Canine Cancer Foundation. Luckily, new research advances and therapies are coming to the forefront.

Researchers from Colorado State University reviewed current options and therapies for canine lymphoma and concluded that immunotherapy for cancer is quickly moving to the forefront of cancer treatment options in veterinary medicine and human medicine. Their findings were published Oct. 13 in The Veterinary Journal.

Recent advances and therapies include the development of tumor immunotherapy, autologous tumor vaccines, antibody-targeted therapeutics, checkpoint molecule targeted therapeutics, and engineered T cells.
