Preventive healthcare guidelines implementation tools available

Rallying staff around the implementation of preventive healthcare guidelines may feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, some free, online tools can make the process not only easy, but also successful.

Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), an alliance of 100+ veterinary associations, veterinary colleges, and animal health companies focused on preventive care led by AAHA and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), has developed a suite of online tools to help you motivate and align the entire practice team around implementation of preventive healthcare guidelines.

To start the implementation process, show, free of charge, an inspiring video by Andy Roark, DVM, a practicing veterinarian, international speaker, and author, who shares a patient experience that changed how he approaches preventive pet healthcare. Roark’s story will remind your staff why they do what they do, and the difference they can make not only in pets’ lives but also in client relationships, via preventive healthcare.

To insure that your staff conversations around preventive healthcare are fruitful, a downloadable Team Meeting Guide that will walk you through six, 45-minute meeting agendas with activities. A downloadable and customizable accompanying PowerPoint deck is also available.

And lest you fail to capture the ideas, suggestions, and next steps that will emerge from your preventive healthcare meetings, a free, fill-in-the-blank Practice Action Plan is available for download that acts as a roadmap for preventive healthcare implementation.
