AAHA-Accredited Hospital Day is July 22

Too often, clients don’t understand the value of accreditation and the veterinary rigor that is part of that distinction. AAHA hopes to change that.

The first annual AAHA-Accredited Hospital (AAHA Day) will be held on July 22, and every year thereafter. Its purpose is to educate clients about the value of accreditation and what it means for their pets, and to thank accredited hospitals for holding themselves to a higher standard.

To that end, AAHA is offering free, downloadable resources to accredited members, including celebration tips, posters, banners, and Facebook photo covers, to help accredited practices educate clients on the value of accreditation. AAHA will also be sharing information about the day via its own communication channels.

To become accredited, hospitals pass a 900-point evaluation that asseses safety protocols, equipment, veterinary knowledge, and other fundamental areas of pet health care. AAHA-accredited veterinary hospitals are home to leading pet health care teams, and only 12–15% of veterinary hospitals in the United States and Canada are AAHA-accredited.
