In collaboration with the Veterinary Medical Association Executives (VMAE), Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP) worked to provide the Ready. Set. Go! Forward Booking Initiative, an array of ready-to-use resources that surround the implementation of forward booking at the practice level.  Forward booking simply means scheduling ALL patients’ appointments before they leave the practice.

Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), an alliance of 100+ veterinary associations, veterinary colleges, and animal health companies focused on preventive care led by AAHA and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), is offering free, downloadable tools to help your practice create an effective forward booking system.

The first tool you will want to use to get started is The Key to Forward Booking Appointments:  Unlock the Potential of a Best Practice for Your Practice. This easy-to-use roadmap designed by PHP will help you implement the suite of forward booking tools located on PHP's website. When you put all of these forward booking pieces together, the result is healthier patients and a healthier practice.

From there, you can download the quick and easy Forward Booking Appointments: How to Fill Your Appointment Schedule. This booklet is a how-to guide that includes resources like examples of effective client-healthcare team conversations and a “roles and responsibilities” checklist for every team member.

Don’t forget your swag! Order buttons for your team members to wear to remind the team to book all patients’ future appointments before they leave the practice. PHP will provide the buttons—all you have to do is order them.
