Bring inactive clients back to your practice with free online tools

Does your practice have a problem with inactive clients?

A review of approximately 5,000 companion animal veterinary practices in the U.S. showed that in 2015, 53% of dogs and 59% of cats in these practices hadn’t had a visit in at least 18 months.

Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), an alliance of 100+ veterinary associations, veterinary colleges, and animal health companies focused on preventive care led by AAHA and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), is providing free, online tools to help your practice bring your inactive clients back.

This program goes beyond your typical reminder service. Its success is tied to specific message and engaging images in emails. The messages are empathetic to the owners’ challenge of getting their pets to the vet but also get across the idea that an annual exam is as important to their pet’s health as food and love. The emails use images from PHP advertising campaigns that have proven to connect with pet owners.

How else is it different from other reminder programs? It’s based on the client’s visitation history, not a timetable for a specific service. The practice can identify pet owners who have been inactive for a specific period, like 14 months or longer.

By delivering a message that is concerned for pet health and the importance of care rather than something that’s service specific, the program focuses on the relationship between the pet, the owner and the veterinary practice.

The templates provided by PHP include personalizable and non-personalizable versions. Personalized versions can include the name of your practice, the client, and the pet. The reminders also offer the option to provide $25 off the cost of the exam when they return.

Join the inactive clients program now used by more than a thousand other practices across the country and see your number of inactive clients decrease with these free, online tools from PHP.
