Merck Animal Health and AAHA join forces to promote healthy workplace culture in member practices

Crushing student debt. Burnout. Compassion fatigue. Employee turnover. Starting salaries that barely pay the bills. Unhappy clients who publicly shame you online. These are just some of the challenges facing today’s veterinary professionals.

And they can all be daunting.

That’s why promoting a healthy workplace culture at your practice has never been more important. Now, Merck Animal Health and AHHA are working together to help you do exactly that.

As part of a multiyear collaboration, Merck Animal Health will be joining AAHA’s Healthy Workplace Culture Initiative as the corporate supporter.

Merck Animal Health will provide an educational grant to fund presentations about culture in accredited veterinary practices throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to these presentations, the educational grant will enable AAHA to produce a series of educational modules and other industry resources.

“We are thrilled to have Merck Animal Health support the AAHA Healthy Workplace Culture Initiative and join us in our efforts to promote positive and healthy culture in companion animal veterinary practices,” said AAHA Chief Executive Officer Michael Cavanaugh, DVM, DABVP (Emeritus). “We are looking forward to collaborating with Merck to provide practices [with] the resources they need to optimize the culture within their walls.”

AAHA’s Healthy Workplace Culture Initiative provides veterinary teams with tools and resources to foster individual wellbeing and optimal, healthy practice cultures. Through this initiative, AAHA aims to improve veterinary practices and the lives of veterinary professionals, which will serve to strengthen the human-animal bond through improved patient care and client satisfaction.

“Merck Animal Health is committed to supporting the veterinary profession and positively impacting the wellbeing of practicing veterinarians,” said Scott Bormann, MS, vice president of US commercial operations at Merck Animal Health. “We are proud to join the AAHA Healthy Workplace Culture Initiative and help to enable a positive and healthy environment for companion animal practices.”
