Attention technicians and assistants: AAHA wants to publish your photos

Natalie Loechel (center), who is in a CVT program, works with Carisa Rindal, DVM (right), at AAHA-accredited Vista Animal Hospital in Erie, Colorado. Loechel was assisting with new patient Rusty’s first veterinary appointment in the practice’s “Sunshine” room, which practice owner Bonnie Abbott, DVM, said has helped with new clients and clients who don’t like being separated from their pets. “This was the first day of no clients in the hospital, on March 23, 2020,” Abbott said. “The next week we had all staff wearing masks all day, every day. We love how this window exam room has helped us stay closer to our clients. We have the client on speaker phone during the entire appointment.”(Photo courtesy of Vista Animal Hospital)

Trends magazine is preparing for our annual Techs@Work photo spread, and we’re looking for great photos to feature in the October issue of Trends. Send us your best photos of technicians and assistants doing their thing for a chance to win prizes and be published in AAHA’s flagship magazine. The practice that sends in the best photo will be featured as the overall winner in Trends and will receive an AAHA prize pack!

Send your photos to Trends editor Ben Williams, [email protected], by AUGUST 5, 2021

Photos should be:

  • High resolution, 300 dpi or better. (Pictures directly from the camera or phone with no compression or file shrinking are good. Pictures taken from websites will be too low-res.)
  • Preferably pictures of technicians/assistants working in the practice.
  • AAHA-standard compliant. Pictures showing clear violations of AAHA standards can’t be used, for example wearing incorrect PPE, etc.
  • Include full names of all people in the photo along with credentials and title (e.g. Lead technician Jane Smith, CVT), as well as credit (who took the picture).

Note: By submitting photos you are confirming that you own the copyright to the photos and agree to allow AAHA to use them in our print and digital publications.

Deadline for submissions: AUGUST 5, 2021
