What’s on the schedule?

A hallmark of AAHA’s annual Connexity conference is its focus on both the business skills you need for running your practice along with a focus on companion animal medicine. Interactive educational tracks deliver both medical and non-medical continuing education.

You can earn up to 25 medical CE and 25 non-medical CE*, in courses including an optional pre-conference RECOVER CPR workshop and sessions on emergency medicine, end-of-life care, neurology, working dog guidelines, endocrinology, and antimicrobial resistance.

The non-medical CE track will feature sessions on clinic finances, communications, team recruitment and retention, remote work and using technology, and design thinking. 

You’ll also be inspired by our three keynote speakers.

Jess Pettitt opens Connexity as the first keynote. After 15 years of direct Diversity Training, Jess Pettitt, CSP, has uncovered why change doesn’t stick. Human Resources Professionals are being asked to wear a million hats and ensure that the organization won’t get sued. This doesn’t lead to an inclusive work culture. Let’s spend a day in the life of a change crusher. Let’s look at a dozen or so contradictory characters that make up your office staff under the magnifying glass and solve the mystery of what you can do with what you already have to make your diversity initiatives stick.

Carrie Jurney DVM, DACVIM, a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional,  has worked in nearly every role in the veterinary industry, from kennel attendant to practice owner. Her ground-breaking mental health and wellness work at Not One More Vet (NOMV), helps veterinary pros cope with crisis and compassion fatigue. What’s compassion fatigue you might ask? It’s when you pour everything you have into everything you do — leaving nothing for yourself. Learn the tips and tricks to preserving your mental wellbeing. Because creating a better world starts with creating a better you.

Jimmy Wayne, country western artist, uses his songs to highlight his mission to raise awareness for kids in foster care. His Number One, “Do You Believe Me Now” earned BMI’s prestigious Million-Air Award for receiving one million radio spins in the United States. You’ll be inspired by his story that even weaves a dog’s tale into his own.
