Omar Farías, VMD, (he/him/his/el), was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. For 11 years, he worked in small animal practice—first as an associate and later as a practice owner. While in practice, he dedicated part of his time helping several local animal welfare organizations. In 2011, he joined Hill’s Pet Nutrition as a professional consulting veterinarian and moved his family to New York City. In his progression at Hill’s, Farías has held positions of increasing responsibility, and currently serves as the director of scientific and academic affairs.
Farías also serves as a board member for the Pride Veterinary Medical Community, and as President-elect and a board member for the Mark Morris Institute.
He lives in Kansas City, Missouri, with his husband, Paul, his Chihuahua, La Chispa, and his cat, Desilu.
