With four weeks to go until the AAHA Austin 2016 Yearly Conference, the American Animal Hospital Association is on the cusp of another record-breaking conference. As of March 3, 2,367 attendees were registered for the conference. This puts the AAHA Austin 2016 conference on track to break the attendance record set by the AAHA Nashville 2014 conference. The AAHA annual conference offers attendees opportunities to learn from industry experts, discover the latest products and services, and network with fellow veterinarians and technicians from around the country.

A pharmaceutical company in the UK is voluntarily recalling 34 lots of veterinary injectable drug products due to sterility concerns, according to the FDA. Norbrook Laboratories in Newry, Northern Ireland, issued the recall May 24, that if the sterility of these drugs has been compromised, using them could introduce infectious agents to the animals.

The results of AAHA’s Education Survey in 2012 indicate that despite age differences, all generations prefer learning in-person, and 53% of veterinary professionals surveyed ranked a conference as their first or second preference. This is why attendees will notice some changes at the upcoming AAHA yearly conference.
