Canine Influenza H3N2—One Year Later

Canine influenza is an infectious respiratory disease that was first identified in the United States in 2003. In 2015, a new strain, CIV H3N2, emerged, which is of avian origin and was first isolated from sick dogs in Asia in 2006. Both strains are not closely related, so dogs should be vaccinated against both strains for best protection.
