The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) awarded the seventh annual AAHA-Accredited Practice of the Year Awards during the AAHA yearly conference’s Opening Session on March 31. Pembroke Animal Hospital of Ontario, Canada took home first place for the general practice category. MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets-Cincinnati of Fairfax, Ohio was awarded first place for the referral practice category.

On Oct. 30, Tokyo, Japan, will be the site of a celebration honoring Gen Kato, DVM, the first Japanese small-animal practitioner to receive the Hill's Excellence in Veterinary Healthcare Award. The American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) has designated nine U.S. veterinary hospitals and clinics as Veterinary Trauma Centers. AAHA presents the award each year in collaboration with the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges’ Primary Care Veterinary Educators.
