Natura recall now includes all dry pet foods
A Natura pet food recall that has been steadily expanding to include more expiration dates now encompasses all dry foods with an expiration date prior to and including March 24, 2014.
The expanded recall comes as a result of salmonella risks that have been detected during sampling by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Georgia Department of Agriculture, the company said in its recall notice.
The five major product lines affected by the recall are:
- California Natural
- EVO
- Healthwise
- Innova
- Karma
According to Natura, the affected products are sold through veterinary clinics and select pet specialty retailers nationwide and in Canada, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and Costa Rica, as well as online. No canned wet food or biscuits are affected by this announcement.
Consumers who have purchased any recalled products have been instructed to cease use immediately and discard them. People with questions can visit www.naturapet.com, or contact Natura for a product replacement or refund at 800-224-6123 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CST.
