There’s a new resource available on the AAHA website to help support veterinary teams who want to implement family-centered care and other concepts covered in the 2024 AAHA Community Care Guidelines for Small Animal Practice.

The AAHA Community Care Toolkit provides actionable insights, information, and inspiration to help veterinary teams. And it empowers teams to meet families where they are and improve access to care in ways that are collaborative, empathetic, and culturally sensitive.

The toolkit covers:

  • How to replace the gold standard with familycentered care
  • Ways to reframe harmful mindsets to prioritize familycentered care
  • Ways to keep pets and families together in the hospital
  • Starting a veterinary community outreach effort
  • The role of angel funds in supporting families
  • A conversation about capacity in client communications

Check out the Community Care Toolkit today and share it with your team.
