Cindy Otto, DVM, PhD, DACVECC, DACVSMR is a veterinarian who is double boarded in emergency and critical care and sports medicine and rehabilitation. She’s a professor of Working Dog Sciences and Sports Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She’s also the executive director of the Penn Working Dog Center. She spent time caring for the search and rescue dogs at Ground Zero in the aftermath of 9/11, and that really fueled a lot of the subsequent work she’s done with working dogs since. More recently, she has been chosen as a finalist for the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation’s Help Discovery Award for her work on cooling methods for dogs experiencing overheating. That and much more on this episode of AAHA’s From The SOAP Box Podcast.
