Dr. Omar Farías (he/him/his) is an accomplished veterinary professional, originally from Puerto Rico and has extensive experience in both clinical practice and industry leadership. He earned his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania and spent 11 years in small animal practice, progressing from associate veterinarian to practice owner. In 2011, Dr. Farías transitioned to Hill’s Pet Nutrition, where he currently serves as Director of Scientific & Academic Affairs. He is the President of the Pride Veterinary Medical Community and serves as a board member for both the Mark Morris Institute and the Diversify Veterinary Medicine Coalition. Dr. Farías resides in Kansas City, MO, with his husband, Paul, and their Chihuahua, La Chispa. From the SOAP Box is the podcast for the American Animal Hospital Association’s newsroom, Trends.
