In this week’s episode, host Emily Singler sits down with Jeremiah Pouncy, a 3rd year veterinary student at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Pouncy describes himself as an innovator at the intersection of veterinary medicine, storytelling, and entrepreneurship. This episode dives into his involvement in wildlife conservation work and international travel, his interests in growing businesses and creating community, and where he sees AI and technology leading the profession. The episode also discusses veterinary students’ perspectives as they complete their training and prepare to enter the workforce as new veterinarians.
April 23: Renee Rucinsky, DVM, ABVP (feline)
In this episode, Renee Rucinsky, a feline-specific specialist practitioner and co-chair of the new AAHA Diabetes Management Guidelines for Dogs and Cats, discusses feline diabetes management and how it has changed over the years, particularly with the advent of SGLT2 inhibitor drugs. Rucinsky also shared her thoughts on the value of ABVP certification and encouraged veterinarians who may be interested in pursuing this pathway to reach out and touched on the new partnership between ABVP and AAHA to co-edit the JAAHA in the future.
