Aquamation, also known as alkaline hydrolysis, is an environmentally friendly alternative to flame cremation that is legal for pets in all 50 US states and Canada. It was thrust into the spotlight at the end of 2021 when anti-apartheid hero Desmond Tutu elected aquamation, so it should continue to gain awareness and popularity for both people and pets in the US and abroad.
