Meet Kate Boatright, a veterinarian, writer, speaker, and consultant. She has championed the causes of spectrum of care and mentorship, and she uses her platforms to inspire other veterinary professionals to rethink the ways in which they interact with clients and with each other.

She stresses the importance of working with families to understand their needs and create partnerships that build trust and help pets get the care they need in ways that work for everyone involved. “We need to get curious to identify the individual client and patient contexts that shape their stories,” she said.

Boatright is also driven by her love for connection with colleagues and a deep passion for mentorship. “We also need to create sustainable careers with vast networks of support for every member of our team,” she said. “A key part of this is providing mentorship to all members of the team and at all stages of their careers.”
