Meet Melissa Kozaruk, a veterinarian, brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS) surgeon, and veterinary educator. She shares educational videos on social media for veterinary professionals interested in learning more about the treatment of dogs with BOAS. Kozaruk sees all the ways that BOAS interferes with dogs’ quality of life and wants to help more veterinary professionals feel empowered to give their patients the care they need. “I am always inspired by the dogs that live happier lives after having their medical conditions treated and managed more appropriately,” she said, “along with being inspired by their owners who are looking for ways to help their dog.”
