Meet Amber LaRock, a credentialed veterinary technician living in Thailand. While her day job involves marketing and social media work for a veterinary aftercare supply company, she spends her off hours volunteering at local animal charities and creating social media content that inspires other veterinary professionals to incorporate travel into their lives.
In her content creation, she strives to help foster open mindedness and compassion in others. “I love that the veterinary and human experience is so deeply intertwined. New legislation limits federal student loan options for veterinary students
Starting in 2026, students starting veterinary school may not be able to finance their entire veterinary education with only federal student loans due to caps put in place by recent legislation. We spoke to a veterinarian and accredited financial counselor to learn which options will still be available to students and how the landscape could be changed going forward to better support future veterinarians.
