Meet Carol Hurst, a veterinary leadership consultant, speaker, and content creator who has a passion for supporting client service representatives (CSRs) as they grow in their roles. Her content across different platforms ranges from relaxed and personal to industry resources and educational insights, all aimed at inspiring leadership skills and promoting personal and professional wellbeing among veterinary professionals. To accomplish this, she covers everything from communication, empathy, conflict resolution, scheduling, compliance, and delivering a strong client experience. “I’m especially passionate about building systems and people,” she said. “Wherever the need is, I’m eager to contribute.”

In veterinary medicine, the importance of the human-animal bond is often discussed in terms of trust, compliance, behavior, and welfare. Housing has, unfortunately, not been prioritized in these conversations, and housing insecurity can very easily lead to the breaking of the human-animal bond as families are forced to choose between safe shelter and their beloved pet.
It’s important to understand that this is not a fringe issue. It is at the core of animal welfare and public health, and veterinarians are fundamental to the solution.
