AAHA Community FAQs

Why is AAHA closing the private AAHA-Accredited Members Facebook group?

AAHA launched AAHA Community based on high interest from members in having a private online platform that is separate from social media. Unlike Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social platforms, AAHA Community is owned and operated by the association.

This means that AAHA can better monitor and uphold a Community Code of Conduct, and we have more oversight of the functionality, as well as how our members’ data is being collected and used.

When is the Facebook group closing?

As of May 2, 2022, the AAHA-accredited Members Facebook group will become read-only, so existing members can still view everything, but no new posts or comments will be allowed and no new members will be added to the group.

Will AAHA still have a corporate Facebook page?

Yes. We will maintain our corporate Facebook page ( where we share AAHA updates, guidelines, articles, etc., as usual.

How did AAHA decide to launch an online community?

In March 2021, independent market research of AAHA members found that more than 60% of members would use an online community if AAHA had one. We have also heard from many members who say they no longer use Facebook or prefer not to use it for work-related activity.
