The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) announced that MWI Veterinary Supply, Inc has officially commenced logistics and operations of AAHA MARKETLink as of July 1, 2008. MWI has entered into a non-binding letter of intent to purchase substantially all of the assets of AAHA Services Corporation, operating as AAHA MARKETLink, and to simultaneously enter into a long-term sponsorship and licensing agreement between MWI and AAHA.. AAHA and MWI plan to enter into a definitive agreement and close the transaction by July 15, 2008. The proposed acquisition is subject to the negotiation and execution of a definitive asset purchase agreement containing terms and conditions customary for a transaction of this nature.

“AAHA was established 75 years ago to advance companion animal health care and to provide comprehensive support for its members,” says John Albers, DVM, AAHA Executive Director. “By entering into this relationship with MWI, we believe that all AAHA members will enjoy enhanced benefits while continuing to enjoy excellent service and one-stop shopping."

Utilizing MWI’s 300-person inside/outside sales force, AAHA MARKETLink will be able to increase in-hospital representation and services. Members will now have access to expanded product lines, extended service hours, improved web ordering tools and online account management. Because MWI has 13 distribution centers across the country, AAHA members will be able receive next day delivery for their orders.
